Risk Mitigation is the process of taking steps to reduce the impact of a risk. This can be done by reducing the likelihood of a risk occurring, or by reducing the impact of a risk if it does occur. Risk mitigation strategies are often put in place before a risk occurs, in order to reduce the likelihood of it happening.
